Ingredients

500 g
250 g
cooked ham
200 g
mozzarella cheese
300 g
tomato
100 g
salami
200 g
Parmesan cheese
as desired
basil
as desired
salt and pepper
For the gratin topping:
150 g
100 g
Parmigiano Reggiano
a few knobs of
butter

Preparation

Boil the Schär Penne for around 7 minutes in salted water. Drain the pasta and leave to cool for a few minutes. Gradually add all the ingredients, starting with the tomato, followed by the raw ham, mozzarella, salami, parmesan, and a few basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper.

 

Place the mixture in a baking dish, and sprinkle with the Schär Breadcrumbs, parmesan and knobs of butter for a crispier topping. 

 

Bake. Remove from the oven, and leave the timballo to stand for around 10 minutes.

 

Serve as desired.

 

Chef's tip: An excellent way to use up leftovers.
